If you've ever wondered what it would be like to fight fires and save lives, and if you're a woman, there's an event this weekend aimed at you.

The North Star Women's Firefighters Association is hosting it's 7th Annual Women's Fire Service Expo this Saturday (May 12th) in Edina.

Every year, about 6,000 teenagers are killed because of distracted or impaired driving. You can help reduce that number by creating a short commercial promoting safe driving.

28 Local Paneras Host Fundraisers for Jack Jablonski

Local Panera Bread restaurants will be raising money for injured Benilde-St. Margaret's hockey player Jack Jablonski tonight.

Customers can visit any of the 28 participating Panera’s tonight between 5-7 p.m. and mention Jack, and 10 percent of proceeds will be donated to the Jack Jablonski Fund.

Metro Homes to Get Free Paint Job This Summer

A Twin Cities organization has painted more than 6,000 homes since 1984, and they did it all for free.  Now the organization wants to know whose houses need painting this summer.

Metro Paint-A-Thon is a program of the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches.  Every summer, volunteers scrape, prime, and paint the exteriors of homes of seniors and people with disabilities.

Chanhassen Firefighters To Climb Skyscraper In Full Gear For Charity

Members of the Chanhassen Fire Department will climb 30 floors of the Accenture Tower in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday, Feb. 25, wearing full gear(!) as part of the Fight For Air Climb, a fundraiser for the American Lung Association in Minnesota.

Blood Drive Planned in Prior Lake

Memorial Blood Centers wants your help.  The organization is holding a blood drive February 26th from 8 a.m. to noon at 13760 McKenna Road Northwest in Prior Lake.

The organization says donors must fit certain criteria.  Here are a few examples:

- In good health

- 17 years old or older (16 with written parental consent)

Memorial Blood Centers wants your help.  The organization has two blood drives planned for Chanhassen in February.

- February 9 from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 8201 Main St

- February 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at 501 West 78th St
