American Lung Association Rates the Air Quality in Your County

Ramsey County earned an  F for air quality. The new American Lung Association report grades counties based on air particle pollution. Ramsey got an F for the first time, down from a B in 2009.

Hennepin and Dakota counties each earned a C. while Scott, Washington and Anoka counties all got A's for air quality.

Anoka Hazardous Waste Facility Switches to Summer Hours

The warm weather is bringing a change to the Anoka County Household Hazardous Waste Facility.

New hours will take effect April 1 through Oct. 31. The facility will now be open from 2-8 p.m. Wednesdays; from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays; and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. It will be closed Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Minnesota Departments of Public Safety and Health have created a video to encourage you to test your home for radon.

Study: Minnesota Groundwater Pollution Levels Low

A new study finds Minnesota groundwater is contaminated with low levels of chemicals.

It's the first study to examine groundwater across Minnesota for "chemicals of emerging concern." Researchers tested 40 shallow wells for 92 contaminants. They found 20 different contaminants. One or more chemicals were found in about one-third of the sampled wells.

State Hosts Forum on Protecting Water Resources

An advisory forum will be held for Minnesota citizens concerned about protecting the state’s water resources.
