Commercial Contest Aims to Reduce Teen Driving Deaths

Every year, about 6,000 teenagers are killed because of distracted or impaired driving. You can help reduce that number by creating a short commercial promoting safe driving.

Govt. Agency Spending Millions to Clean Up Lake Mtka. Bay

A west metro government agency is spending millions to improve the water quality in a corner of Lake Minnetonka.

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District says it recently bought a 112-acre farm in Minnetrista for the "discounted" price of $2.25 million.

Help rejuvenate Lake Minnewashta Regional Park for the busy summer months at the Park Cleanup on Saturday, April 30.

Groups, families and individuals are invited to take part in the Earth Day cleanup from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

The National Weather Service is sponsoring Severe Weather Awareness Week April 11-15. This is a reminder to go over your family's response to weather situations like a severe thunderstorm or tornado.

DNR: Fish House Removal Day Coming Soon

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has a warning for all fish house owners: fish houses must be taken off the ice of inland waters no later than midnight on March 7th in the southern two-thirds of the state and March 21st in the northern third.

The DNR says all dark houses, fish houses and portables must be of the ice by the March 7th and March 21st deadline.
